Representatives of CTRO in an official visit to Ukraine
Representatives of CROMAC-CTRO headed by the Managing Director Katarina Markt were in an official visit to Ukraine in the period from September 30 – October 3, 2021.
Ukraine is currently in the phase of establishing and reorganizing the entire mine action system, and in the process, they intend to exchange knowledge and experience from the best national systems in the world. On that occasion, an official visit of representatives of the Croatian Mine Action Center – Center for Testing, Development and Training to the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the SES of Ukraine, located in Kharkiv, was organized.
The main goal of the visit was to exchange experiences in the field of mine action and a detailed presentation of the entire process of certification and testing of demining machines, personnel protective equipment and dogs used in humanitarian demining operations.
In addition, Ukraine is working very intensively on the establishment and implementation of projects related to mine risk education for civilians.
In this regard, the Croatian Association “Croatia Helps” and the Ukrainian Association “Association Saperіv of Ukraine” have launched the project “Safe Movement – Mine Education for Children and Youth, Croatia and Ukraine”.
During the stay, in the heart of the capital of Ukraine in the conference hall “Admiral Hall” was held a workshop where representatives of the Croatian delegation CTRO CTRO and the organization “Croatia Helps” held presentations in the field of mine action to Ukrainian colleagues.
In her introductory speech, Croatian Ambassador to Ukraine Anitca Djamić emphasized the comprehensive support that Croatia provides and will continue to provide to Ukraine in order to address mine action issues.
