On Friday, 4 April, Mr. Pedro Basto, Research and Innovation Programme Manager at the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), visited the HCR-CTRO test site in Benkovac.

The visit followed the conclusion of the Mine Action 2025 Symposium, held in Cavtat from 1 to 3 April, where Mr. Basto delivered a presentation on the applications of artificial intelligence in mine action.

During the visit, HCR-CTRO experts provided technical information about the test site, including the public and blind testing parts and their purpose, as well as the, landmine and UXO targets. They also presented details of completed trials conducted at the site.

Mr. Basto expressed his satisfaction with the visit and recognized potential opportunities for future collaboration between GICHD and HCR-CTRO.
