On 1st December 2024, HCR-CTRO became a partner on GENIUS project, financed through the European Defense Fund. The duration of the project is three years, and it aims to improve the technologies intended to combat improvised explosive devices (IED) and unexploded explosive ordinances (UXO) in order to deal with new and evolving threats.

The project will study and design solutions to increase the accuracy of UXO/IED detections. The inclusion of new technologies - sensors for detection, set of effectors, including a UGV for neutralisation and handling, will significantly improve the capability of the EU armed forces to deal with new and evolving threats. The project coordinator is the Spanish company GMV and there are 18 partners participating.

This is the second EDF project in which HCR-CTRO participates, the first one is AIDEDeX, awarded in 2023.
