NATO SPS project at Benkovac test site

A team of scientists working on a NATO SPS project Biological method (bees) for Explosive Detection conducted project activities at the Benkovac test site from 13th to 16th April. The team consisted of Ross Gillanders, PhD and James Glackin, PhD from the University of St Andrews, Prof Janja Filipi from the University of Zadar and Prof Nikola Kezic. The field trials included the passive sampling of honeybee hive entrances and the air inside the beehives, as well as the air sampling of contaminated lanes.

These samples will be tested in Scotland at the Organic Semiconductor Centre, with their luminescent explosives-sensitive sensors.
