MoU signed with Colombian Mine Action Centre (CENAM)
From 23rd to 27th February representatives of CROMAC and HCR-CTRO visited the Republic of Colombia with the purpose of signing a MoU between the Colombian National Mine Action Centre (CENAM) and CROMAC and discussing future cooperation.
On 23rd and 24th February the Croatian delegation held preparatory meetings with representatives of CENAM and representatives of the Colombian Ministry of National Defence. Ms Nancy Butijer from the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Head of Department for North, Central and South America was present at the meeting.
On 25th February, the MoU was signed by Mr Neven Karas, CROMAC Assistant Director and brigadier Hernando Velasquez, CENAM Director. The signing was witnessed by Ms Vesna Pusić, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Mr Juan Carlos Pinzón Bueno, Colombian Minister of Defense, Croatian Ambassador to Brazil, Mr Drago Štambuk and HCR-CTRO Director, Mr. Nikola Pavković.
The same day the Croatian delegation met with general Rafael Colon Toress, Director of the Direction for integral action against antipersonnel landmines (DAICMA).
On 26th February, the delegation held a meeting with Ms. Vesna Pusić and informed her about past activities and future plans.
On 27th February discussions were held with Colonel Govanny Riaño, Commander of the Anti-explosives CBRN Information and Firearms Tracing Centre. After the meeting, Colonel Riaño decorated the members of the Croatian delegation with the National Police decorations.
